Alpine architecture - model making
Location: Innsbruck, Austria
Project description: In 2016 the association 'Deutscher Alpenverein' in collaboration with the History department/Faculty of Architecture/University of Innsbruck organised two exhibitions about the architecture of the traditional Alpine mountain refuges and the evolution of their form over time. My role in the project's team was focused on model making and architectural plans presentation of the the 'Braunschweiger Hütte'. In 2017 i participated in the construction of the 'Olperer Hütte', for the needs of a second exhibition organised by the Österreichischer Alpenverein.
The models for the Olperer and the Braunschweiger Hütte, were designed in Rhinoceros 3D software and Fusion 360. Later on the parts were fabricated using a CNC Laser Cutter machine and 3D printer. The materials used was MDF in grey and beige mass, natural wood, and PLA.
